Sky Seat

Instead of driving to Target, we decide to take the bus. Aren't we good citizens. Not up for the parking frenzy today.

We walk towards this tower that stands on the corner of 19th and 10th Avenue, right next to Bishop Ford. It's an austere corner of the neighborhood, probably it actually is the corner of the neighborhood, considering it's the point where the part of Windsor Terrace that lies South of the expressway narrows to a width of one block.

We get to the bus stop, under the tower, across from the cemetery. The expressway is a block away.

Mom, when I was little I thought there was a seat at the top of that tower. Someone had the job to climb it and sit up there, to watch everyone.

I didn't want that job.
