Kindly Sit Outside

I just read that Abraham was considered to be an extremely kind person. As an example of this, he would sit outside his tent in the heat of the desert. Why was this considered to be kind, I wonder? If this is kind, then the woman who lives across from me, Rose, must be the kindest person in Brooklyn. She's out there every afternoon, sitting with her cane. Taking it all in. All the folly of my family simply trying to get in and out of the minivan.

So cruel then that God would ask such an act of someone so kind hearted. Sacrifice Isaac, your boy, your baby, who you waited all your life for. But the world as we know it seems most terrible to the kind hearted, who've grown attached and who want to help and nurture life. Most devastating to the tender.

I have an idea about this weird puzzle involving the tenderness of the heart. This is God's way of saying no, you will never never find lasting happiness in this world. You have to find me in your heart. I'm already there, waiting. I always have been. You will find me there, along with everyone you have ever loved.
