The tree is called a Sweet Gum but the fruits are neither sweet nor gum. They are dry prickly balls. A gum drop tree the tree is not, but I do love it anyway. The star shaped leaves that turn gold in fall seem like of old friends. Tree litter, 13th and 6th Ave.
