I think these trees that have such a windswept look are some kind of cherry trees. The dried berries on the branches were the size of nickels. A very calm sparrow landed on a branch and hung around long enough to have its picture taken.

I'm trying to recall what these trees are. I think they're Hawthornes. I'll take a closer look next time I walk past!
