Thursday Night Twilight Tours in Prospect Park!
Enjoy wine & cheese, cool breezes sailing on the Park's Lake and a naturalist lead bat tour! Thursdays, June 19, 26 • July 3, 10, 31 • August 7, 14, 21, 28, 7 - 9 p.m. at the Prospect Park Audubon Center
Enjoy an evening of strolling and cruising, wine and cheese, and the Park's mysterious nocturnal fauna. Start out with a ride on the electric boat Independence, followed by guided exploration of the Park's nature trails and a chance to meet the amazing bats that call Prospect Park home. $25 per person (payable at the Audubon center by cash or credit card). Tours fill up fast, so make reservations early! (718) 287-3400 x114.
Directions: Enter the Park at Lincoln Road & Ocean Ave., Parkside & Ocean Aves., or Flatbush Ave. & Empire Blvd. (Willink entrance) and follow the directional signs. By train: Q, S, or B to Prospect Park Station. By bus: B-16, B-41, B-43 and B-48 will bring you close to the Park's Willink entrance. Celebrate Father’s Day with a concert and sing-along with Lloyd Miller from the Deedle Deedle Dees. Sample 18th-century Dutch-style coleslaw that you help prepare. Lefferts Historic House. Free.
Happy Father’s Day!, 12 – 5 p.m.
Make a Father’s Day card out of recycled materials at our craft station from 1 – 3 p.m., then cruise with Pops out on the Lullwater in the electric boat Independence while learning about the animals of the Lullwater and all of their fatherly responsibilities. Audubon Center. Free.
Pedal Boats & Prospect Park Carousel, 12 – 6 p.m.
Pedal Boats and the historic 1912 Carousel will both be open from 12 – 6 p.m. on Father’s Day!
Tour: Architecture in Old King’s County: Sunday, June 15, 12 p.m. at Lefferts Historic House
Tour Lefferts Historic House, explore how the house was built and used over the last 220 years and glimpse future plans for the museum. Climb the staircase for a view of the attic’s smokehouse and examine both public and private areas. For adults and teenagers
