A New Musical about Coney Island

Fresh from Windsor Terrace comes a musical production about Coney Island written by my friend Dana Leslie Goldstein. I'm so excited, I already have tickets and a babysitter. Here's how my talented neighbor describes her play, Cyclone and the Pig-Faced Lady.

Sally Kaplan's hit comic book “Cyclone” is set in the glamorous, seedy Coney Island of the 1920's, where Cyclone, a sultry gypsy heartbreaker, and her freakish twin sister, the Pig-Faced Lady, always save the day. But in the real world, there are no superheroes, and Sally must find a way to become the hero of her own story. During the show, the comic book sketches that Sally draws are projected on a scrim. Those sketches are going to be drawn by actual female comic book artist Adriana Melo, who's drawn Fantastic Four, Witchblade, Ms. Marvel, Birds of Prey, Stars Wars, etc., for Marvel, DC, Top Cow.
The cast includes Ariela Morgenstern (Adding Machine), David Garry (Sweeney Todd, Company), Paul Niebanck (Othello, Great Expectations), Jodie Bentley (Captain Louie), Jacob Thompson (LIBERTY, The Musical), Judah Frank (Cirque Dreams), Jessica Mary Murphy, Caleb Damschroder, Lucy Sorenson and Amber Carson. Elysa Marden directs, John Bronston musically directs, Edie Cowan choreographs.
