Brooklyn Under Siege
I spoke with Marney Fuller, the woman who helped the public school kids make the wire spider. She has a few battle scars on her arms from the wire wrangling, but mostly, it was very happy weaving. She now knows every child in the school. The fire department was instrumental in getting the hefty monster safely mounted to the wall.
About the black widow on Sherman I know nothing, but can picture the moment when it was secured to its moorings and dropped out the window. Now that the moment's past, I wonder where the spider will hibernate until next year?

The spider will be living in the cellar. Hey that is what cellars are for.
