More Bling in Purgatory

I'm getting used to the dimness here in this morbid limbo, with it's heaviness and misery and revelations of unpleasant things. I'm gearing up for the bearing down. I've seen some things to cheer me up, though.

At work, the quiet new intern has a beautiful tattoo of a swallow on his arm. I noticed some puffy redness to his skin along one of the bird's dark wings. He reminded me of a Sundancer.

I had a hankering for something sweet and envisioned cupcakes. Soon after, the boss showed up with a box of what she was calling "unity cupcakes" to celebrate Obama's victory. I have a psychic sweet tooth.

I got onto a crowded 6 train but got a loveseat all to myself. I guess everyone was planning to get off at the next station.

I've been walking by this poster in front of the Center for Jewish History, eyeing that ring, hoping to internalize its dimensions.
