Brooklyn Heretic?
My determination to make a fluffy omelet tonight to celebrate my good mood put me next to the radio, where I heard the amazing This American Life segment about Carlton Pearson, a man declared a modern-day heretic because he stopped believing in hell and damnation and started preaching love and inclusion. I didn't know people were still being labeled heretics. I'm so glad I didn't miss that show because heretics rule. It mentioned a Brooklyn Lutheran minister accused of heresy after he had Muslims and other non-Christians join him in the pulpit after 9/11. Whoever you are, hats off to you, and my deep appreciation for your rationality and courage, and I hope you didn't suffer too much for it. Blessed are the despised.
