Perfume isn't the right word

It's too stale to apply to the aroma of this variety of honeysuckle(?) on the path down to the Lullwater. The sweetest thing I've smelled in a long time, hard to pass by. A scent that can make up for missing the cherry blossoms at the Botanic Garden.

That scent sort of floats me.

I had to be dragged away from it.
Do you happen to know what kind of honeysuckle that is?

Yes indeed, thank you for asking! It's my flavour of the month: Lonicera fragrantissima. Note not fragranta. But -issima...:-), which it is...

Common name, according to Frank@nycgarden is Sweet Breath of Spring.

It's wonderful.

Fragrantissima! Yes!

Plus the wonderful fragrance of Jasmine. There are two bushes off Bartell Pritchard Square next to the SE stairs to the F train. And a few more on the path that branches south off the east end of Wellhouse Drive, near the piles of dirt. We had a jasmine in our back yard in Grand Rapids, and it gave me great comfort in our few years there.

I'll look for those next time I'm there.

I think we should map them for pre-spring upliftment of the spirits.

Yes, in digital scratch-n-sniff.

Confused, Old First. I walked by those bushes today (had to climb over a wall!) and those also seem to be honeysuckle. No bees there. Do they get to sleep in? Hope no one finds out, that'll ruin their reputation for being so busy.

I'm pretty sure they are jasmine. I recognize the jasmine smell and the jasmine flower. They don't have the honeysuckle flower. We'll have to meet and map.
