Roots and Churro

It was a bright moment in the kitchen on Saturday when I heard this story about sacred sheep being returned to the Navajo while I absent-mindedly took pictures of these roots, branching from a sprig of rue I'd salvaged in early spring.

If you want to meet a Churro up close, you should visit the NY Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck. There are Churros, along with other rare breeds. And Churro fleeces for sale!

Great image, even better tie-in with the sheep. Gotta love NPR.

Come to think of it, NPR ran another story about sheep last week, a story by Andrew Solomon about a ritual healing requiring sacrificial rams he was the center of in Senegal. I guess it's a thing.
