Luck and Lucky things

This restaurant in Bayridge on 86th St., Thai Food 88, serves chinese and thai, plus, bubble tea. I haven't tried enough of the food to say if it's good or not. I go there for these murals full of objects I find intriguing and mysterious, hung, I believe, for luck. If you can tell me more about the imagery, please do. When I look at them, I feel optimistic and hopeful. Consider this: 8/8 cyclones hit 68 street instead of 86, avoid Thai Food 88. A strange palindromic formula, no? Is it meant to be deciphered?

There is disagreement over the meaning of 88. Nazis claim the number because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, but the number doesn't claim them. If Heil Hitler gives them 88, then 88 belongs equally to Helen Hunt, Holly Hobby and Hugh Hefner. The LA band The 88 has this on their website:

88 keys on the piano....88 constellations in the sky....the infinity sign....the most auspicious number in China....88 mph to get Back To The Future...88 cities in Los Angeles...a great French Kicks song.

And numberquest.com

I really wonder what those balls with eyes are, with fire coming out the top. Very Pokemon, my son's adopted religion. Also love those cascading gold dishes, what are they, I love the word cascade... Hmmm, cascading style sheets, such a toothsome phrase. Who gets credit for that?
