low firmament

The Linden trees around here started blooming last week. The foliage is so lush that under each tree I find a little night spangled with flower and bud constellations. It's hard not to pause for a few seconds and hide from the heat, from the demands of the day, and to breath the nearly narcotic aroma. Under those trees right now, life seems distinctly kind.

Plus, the low-hanging flowers perfume the brain.
