Gravity Thwarted

It's not Bobbing for Apples, but something similar....one of the games at my son's 7th birthday celebration. He seemed satisfied with the party we threw for him. Already 7 seems much more gracious than 6. His birthday is the day after Halloween, and my youngest's is the day before it, so they make bookends around the Holiday. What a busy season. At least the apples were still... until a half dozen second graders unsuccessfully gnashed their teeth at them. At first there were cascading peals of giggles but then the desperation set in. We had to cave in and let the kids use their hands.

4 is a very different age than 3- the little one seems to have just turned into a lion. Believe me, there is no ambiguity about what she thinks, feels and wants. Cute how they confuse the words "people" and "persons" at that age. "Do alligators eat persons?" she askes, and I realize I wanted a vacation from the word "people" but didn't know it.

Happy birthday to your boy. My daughter is seven today and threw a major tantrum this morning. Not fun to deal with on THREE hours on sleep because I was up late doing birthday prep. I guess she has the rest of the day to show an increase in gratitude. Your post gives me hope that it will be so. Lucky seven, right? We hope . . .

Thanks! I hope the situation improved. Russell and I had a big fight the morning after I wrote this...but mostly he seems to want to help.
